This blog is powered by Wordpress, and extremely flexible and powerful blog software which is available free at Wordpress. Part of Wordpress’ power is the ability to add any number of plugins to enhance functionality. I am often asked what Wordpress plugins I use for this site, so I thought I’d list them here.

AutoMeta	Automatically generate and include HTML Meta Tags and Technorati Tags based on the full text of your post.
Dagon Design Sitemap Generator	Generates a customizable sitemap containing all posts and pages - interactively generated as the user access the site map page - ensuring your site map is always 100% up to date.
Digg This	Adds a Digg story link on detection of digg referrer. Useful to see how many people have found the article of interest.
Feedburner Feed Replacement	Forwards all feed traffic to Feedburner while creating a randomized feed for Feedburner to pull from.
Google Sitemaps	This generator will create a Google compliant sitemap of your WordPress blog. Absolutely essential.
JAW Popular Posts Widget	Adds a sidebar widget that shows the most popular posts. Requires the Sidebar Widgets plugin from Automattic and the Popularity Contest plugin by Alex King.
Permalink Redirect	This plugin ensures that pages and entries are always accessed via the permalink. Otherwise, a 301 redirect will be issued.
Popularity Contest	This will enable ranking of your posts by popularity; using the behavior of your visitors to determine each post’s popularity. You set a value (or use the default value) for every post view, comment, etc. and the popularity of your posts is calculated based on those values.
Random Quotes	This plugin allows you to embed random quotes into your pages. It also has a spiffy management tool in the administrative console.
Related Posts	Returns a list of the related entries based on active/passive keyword matches.
Sidebar Widgets	Adds “Sidebar Widgets” panel under Presentation menu - useful for adding additional functionality into your blog without having to tweak the templates.
SimpleTags	Allows you to create a list of Technorati tags at the bottom of your post by providing a comma separated list of tags between the [tags] tags. You can use it with any blogging tool/method, not just when posting from WordPress itself . Supports multiple words within tags. Also allows in-post tagging of words by enclosing them in [tag] tags.
Sociable	Automatically adds links on your posts to popular social bookmarking sites. This allows visitors to add your article to a list of their favorites, which are then publicly visible, enhancing your site’s exposure.
Spam Karma 2	Comment spam is a common problem with blogs (where visitors will post endless comments with numerous URL’s simply to drive traffic to their own site. This utility effectively stops 99% of spam attacks.
Subscribe To Comments	Allows readers to recieve notifications of new comments that are posted to an entry.
WordPress Database Backup	On-demand backup of your WordPress database.
WP-ContactForm	WP Contact Form is a drop in form for users to contact you. It can be implemented on a page or a post.
